meet tristan, the founder of marna who embarked on this adventure in late 2021. with a passion for crafting iced tea, tristan’s homemade recipes quickly became a favourite among friends and family, and he saw an opportunity to introduce something different to the UK market.
what had begun as a passion project for tristan has quickly become so much more.
enter mauro, whose love affair with iced tea began in the quaint streets of salzburg and the sun-kissed italian countryside. mauro joined marna to recapture the joy of childhood memories of iced tea after he had unofficially appointed himself as head of taste testing whilst they were flatmates, working in london.
together, they are carving out a lifestyle brand that stands for more than just taste – high quality, good-for-you iced tea, created for the good times.
OUR WHY
our adventure started with a simple idea: what would happen if we created an iced tea, that was both healthy and delicious?
welcome to marna, where we're on a mission to shake up the world of iced tea with our refreshing, healthy range of drinks – a journey that was inspired by a road trip along the west coast of the US and born out of our home kitchen in london.
our beginnings focused on making jugs of homemade iced tea for our friends and family after realising that there were no iced teas, that, well, tasted like real iced tea should.
so, we got to work.
and although a lot has happened since then, in many ways nothing has really changed. we are still on our mission to make quality, healthy iced tea - but now, we just want to share it with everyone.
THE MEANING OF MARNA
our name is derived from a remarkable encounter we had with a manatee, who we affectionately named martha.
martha the manatee.
as we thought about a name for ourselves, it struck us that manatees embodied the very essence of what we wanted our name to be associated with:
warmth, sociability, and pure happiness.
so, we combined the ‘mar’ from martha with the ‘na’ from manatee, and there it was – ‘marna’.
so, when you enjoy a sip of marna, you're not just having a drink; you're experiencing a piece of our story and our commitment to bringing a little more goodness into your day.
